New research by the Australian Industry Group/Australian Contractors Association has forecast the total value of construction work to rise by 5.9% during the 2010-11 financial year and a further 7.9% in 2011-12.
The outlook is significantly above the 1.5% growth recorded in 2009-10.
The construction of residential apartment blocks is showing signs of recovery with results varied from state to state.
